Mahmut Asmalı, President of MUSIAD, made evaluations at the 106th GIK Opening Program of MUSIAD held in Konya.  Making statements regarding the developments in the field of energy in his speech, President Asmalı said, "Behind this success in the field of energy is undoubtedly our successful foreign policy exercised by a strong political leadership."

Mahmut Asmalı, President of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD), made statements at the Opening Program of MUSIAD 106th General Administrative Board (GIK), hosted by MUSIAD Konya branch. Konya Governor Vahdettin Özkan, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, Konya Chamber of Commerce President Selçuk Öztürk, provincial protocol, MUSIAD Board Members, MUSIAD branch president and representatives, MUSIAD members from all over Türkiye and guests at the Selcuklu Congress Center Addressing Türkiye's work in the field of energy at the event, MUSIAD President Asmalı said, "There is no old Türkiye anymore, there is a strong Türkiye on the table and on the field."  In his speech, where he also mentioned the achievements in the field of energy, President Asmalı drew attention to the steps taken under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

 "Türkiye, the energy belt road of the world" 

Mahmut Asmalı, President of MUSIAD, stated that Türkiye stands out with its unique strategic and geopolitical position in the region at the 106th GIK Opening Program of MUSIAD. Pointing out that our country has become the world's energy belt with the policies implemented in the last 20 years, President Asmalı continued his words as follows:

"Türkiye is on the way to become an important energy center with its unique geopolitical position in the world and the new energy policies implemented. There are the world's richest oil and natural gas rich countries around us. At the same time, Türkiye is a natural bridge in transporting these resources to Europe. Türkiye is a renewable energy source. In terms of energy-based power, it ranks 5th in Europe and 12th in the world.Our government focused on reducing the use of traditional energy sources and expanding renewable and clean energy sources, under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and in line with sustainable development goals. In line with the vision, it has signed a great success story in energy transformation, renewable energy and energy efficiency."

Referring to the point reached in foreign policy in the MUSIAD 106th GIK Opening Program, President Asmalı pointed out that under the leadership of President Erdoğan, Türkiye is an island of peace and stability.  In his assessment, MUSIAD President Asmalı emphasized the importance of active foreign policy from the Caucasus to the Balkans, from the Eastern Mediterranean to Central Asia and said, "There is no old Türkiye anymore, there is a strong Türkiye on the table and on the field."

The feature of our founding foreign policy is that it is entrepreneurial, humanitarian, national and above all independent. Thanks to this successful foreign policy, Türkiye has remained an island of peace and stability in our geography struggling with conflict, war and terrorism. Our international reputation has increased with this effective foreign policy, which has been deepened by our moves in the defense industry. With our active foreign policy from Türkiye to the Balkans, from the Eastern Mediterranean to Central Asia, we have become partners or founders of permanent cooperation platforms. star shines even brighter.As MUSIAD, we also provide active support to humanitarian diplomacy, and especially to business diplomacy, with our partners and members. The old Türkiye is no more. The successful foreign  policy of Türkiye, which is the fifth country with the most foreign representations, positively affects every sector from energy to defense industry, from economy to agriculture.

 MUSIAD will guide the sector with its energy strategy

President Asmalı touched upon the MUSIAD Energy Strategy and Climate Manifesto in his evaluations in Konya and said that Türkiye can continue its successful journey in the field of energy with 3 basic principles more effectively.  In his speech, President Asmalı said,

"Domestic, efficient and technology-oriented energy production and consumption, the construction of Türkiye energy industry, and the independent, reliable generation road Türkiye perspective in energy will carry our country further."

"We supported the green transformation in the industry with the Climate Manifesto we announced at MUSIAD Visioner'21. At the same time, the MUSIAD Energy Strategy, which we announced in the past weeks, reveals a roadmap that will carry our country further in this field. As MUSIAD, in addition to the rapid implementation of 3 basic principles, we We believe that the share of renewable energy in production should be increased to 75 percent and our share in the world renewable energy pie to 3 percent by 2050. We reiterate our demand for an energy industry strategy to support our domestic and national energy policy, because public, university and industrial business Concentrating on the development of domestic energy technologies will be an initiative that will take our country through a new era in this field.”

 In the "Green Transformation Economy" panel organized within the framework of MUSIAD 106th General Administrative Board, MUSIAD Energy and Environment Sector Board Chairman Altuğ Karataş, Electricity Production Company (EÜAŞ) General Manager Dr. İzzet Alagöz and Konya Carbon Certification Inc.  İsmail Hakkı Karaca, Chairman of the Board of Directors, made evaluations. Green transformation in the industry and the opportunities created by green transformation policies, their economic reflections and the steps to be taken were discussed in detail in the panel.
