MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY PROF. DR. VAHİT KİRİŞCİ MEETING WITH PRESIDENT OF MÜSİAD MAHMUT ASMALI

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci visited MUSIAD and met with MUSIAD President Mahmut Asmalı and MUSIAD Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sector Board members. During the meeting, sectoral problems and suggestions for solutions were discussed comprehensively.

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci visited the Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) Headquarters and met with MUSIAD President Mahmut Asmalı and MUSIAD Board Members. During the meeting, in which the members of the MUSIAD Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sector Board also took part, the MUSIAD Agriculture Summit held in Adana, sectoral problems and suggestions for solving the problems were discussed in detail.

"The findings of MUSIAD are valuable for us"

Making statements after the meeting, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Dr. Kirişci stated that the findings of MUSIAD are valuable. Minister Kirişci said in his evaluation:

"It is very useful, we exchanged views. The findings of this association and the solution proposals of this association regarding our sector are valuable for us. We have received all of these, we have received our files, we have taken our notes. I hope that in our future work, we will also consider the evaluations and contributions here. And as the Ministry of Forestry, we will continue our work at great speed."

MUSIAD Agriculture Strategy Report was presented to Minister Kirişci

In his statement regarding the meeting, President Asmalı stated that many of the topics evaluated at the MUSIAD Agriculture Summit and the Agricultural Strategy that were put forward focused on solving problems in line with Turkey's 2023 targets. President Asmalı stated that the MUSIAD Agricultural Strategy Report prepared on the subject was shared with Minister Kirişci.

"We are pleased to host our Honorable Minister at MUSIAD. Turkey is an agricultural country. Many different types of products are grown all over our country. There is no other country where such diversity is encountered in every square kilometer. Both climate conditions and emerging global effects have brought new problems in the field of agriculture and food. "Mr. Minister, takes initiatives in many areas to address the problems of our farmers and producers. We also take steps to prevent and solve the problems that arise and new risks that may arise with the reports we prepare. In our meeting, we comprehensively discussed the problems in the sector and the demands of our producers and industrialists. Our Agriculture Strategy is a roadmap in this context."

MUSIAD's proposal will be implemented

During the visit, it was also stated that the proposal, which is included in the MUSIAD report and which is waiting for 1 year, will be rented from the citizens and converted into agricultural production areas. President Asmalı made the following statements in his statement on the subject:

"Mr. Minister, the necessary steps have been taken to implement our proposal, which envisages that the lands waiting for 1 year be leased from the citizens and converted into agricultural production fields. In other words, there will be no uncultivated areas in Anatolia. In addition, our Minister will bring a feed subsidy for our farmers and producers dealing with animal husbandry, the Contract Agriculture Project and He also gave the good news that there are initiatives to establish a Sworn Agricultural Consultancy. We will continue to work in full coordination with our MUSIAD Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sector Board and our Ministry. I would like to thank the Minister for his visit once again."
