Speaking at the summit within the scope of the opening speeches, MUSIAD Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sector Board Chairman Cemal Özen expressed the agricultural problems that are on the agenda of the whole world and said, "The world is talking about food, agriculture is on the agenda of the world. The world is discussing the food crisis. In the coming periods, if both the world and our country take the necessary measures. I would like to share that we will be faced with policies and systems in the long run, when we can be alone with food shortages," he said.
Elazig Governor Dr. Ömer Toroman, on the other hand, made statements about the infrastructure and agricultural availability of the region. Governor Toroman continued his words as follows:
“Kuzova is a large plain that has passed into a closed system, its irrigated system is experiencing serious problems due to pumped irrigation costs. In order to overcome this, our Ministry of Agriculture, DSI General Directorate, came out with a tender for a 2 megawatt power plant in order to support our farmers with the solar power plant model. Unfortunately, we could not conclude the tender due to price volatility, but we are about to enter our second tender. Water agriculture is a well-known high value-added agriculture. On the other hand, the Uluova problem, which is one of the chronic problems of Elazig. This place was built over time and served, but at this point, there is 30 percent evaporation and water loss. Even a drop of water is very precious in this time period that water is so precious. Therefore, our ministry and DSI have done the necessary work for this to be put into a closed system, and received their approval, but with the Presidential decision published in May, they transferred and allocated additional resources to uluova and similar large agricultural projects. We are grateful for this. Both the Elazığ uluova project and our President have signed a resource facility of approximately 550 million, which is a very high figure. With this figure, it means that we will turn uluova into a completely closed network in 2022-2023, and uluova will become irrigated agriculture after many years.”
In his speech, MUSIAD Elazig Branch President Tekin Gürkan stated that they attach importance to the development, development and leadership of the region and the city. In his speech, Gürkan said, "As MUSIAD, we attach great importance to the development of our city in all areas. With this thought, we are trying to implement projects that will contribute to the economic and social development of Elazig. We know that we have opportunities to increase our production even more. "We need initiatives that will enable new investors to invest. As Elazig, we have the potential, infrastructure and experience. I believe that we have a new motivation to produce more together. I hope we will reach a better level with the target of more investment and more production in the coming period." he said.
