MÜSİAD PROMOTES STRONGER TURKISH-DUTCH BUSINESS COLLABORATION in AMSTERDAM

The first leg of the MÜSİAD program in the Netherlands took place in Amsterdam, where MÜSİAD Netherlands General Assembly was organized with the participation of the MÜSİAD delegation from Türkiye, led by President Asmalı.

 

MÜSİAD Netherlands General Assembly and MÜSİAD Europe General Administrative Board were held in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, with the participation of MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı. The event gathered business people from Türkiye and various parts of Europe.

During the General Assembly, President Asmalı emphasized the significance of the trade relations between Türkiye and the Netherlands.

Stressing the need to further strengthen the commercial ties between the two countries and establish a stronger collaboration, President Asmalı highlighted Türkiye's strategic location as a hub for global trade. He stated, "Our country, which is at the center of global commerce, serves as a gateway to regional markets, offering opportunities for transportation. With the logistics and infrastructure projects implemented in the past 20 years, Türkiye has further enhanced this advantage." President Asmalı expressed his pride in flying the T-70 helicopter, the latest achievement in this powerful platform equipped with advanced avionic systems.

President Asmalı further elaborated on the substantial progress in commercial relations between Türkiye and the Netherlands. In 2022, Türkiye's exports to the Netherlands increased by 18.6% to reach $8.0 billion, while imports from the Netherlands amounted to $4.5 billion during the same period. The bilateral trade surplus favored Türkiye with a value of $3.5 billion, leading to a record-breaking trade volume of $12.5 billion. President Asmalı acknowledged the undeniable contributions of business representatives to this remarkable achievement and called for further strengthening of these trade connections, fostering stronger cooperation.

During the MÜSİAD General Assembly program, Ali Köklü was re-elected as the President of MÜSİAD Netherlands Branch. President Asmalı also had a meeting with Türkiye's Ambassador to The Hague, Selçuk Ünal, where they discussed MÜSİAD projects, initiatives targeting earthquake-prone regions, and trade activities in the European region.

In the context of the MÜSİAD General Assembly Program, President Asmalı and the delegation visited MÜSİAD members in the region, followed by a visit to the Turkish Embassy in The Hague. They also engaged with representatives of the Dutch business community in Amsterdam, assessing regional investment opportunities and areas of collaboration.

The MÜSİAD Netherlands Global Business Networking Reception, held after the closing dinner of the MÜSİAD Netherlands General Assembly Program, garnered significant interest. The event, attended by Türkiye's Ambassador to The Hague Selçuk Ünal, foreign mission representatives, Turkish-Dutch business representatives, and MÜSİAD members, facilitated discussions on bilateral trade relations between the two countries.

President Asmalı, in a statement on social media after the program, highlighted the increasing influence of Turkish business people in the European region's commercial relationships. He emphasized that Türkiye's strategic location, advanced infrastructure, and offered opportunities will position it as the global hub of commerce in the future. He reaffirmed MÜSİAD's commitment to contribute to Türkiye's future goals through the efforts of domestic and international organizations.
