Uzbekistan delegation headed by the Governor of Nevaiy Province of Uzbekistan Normat Tursunov visited MUSIAD Headquarters to exchange ideas on Turkey-Uzbekistan trade relations and regional studies. In the meeting attended by MUSIAD President Mahmut Asmalı, Export Promotion Commission Chairman Ahmet Cihaner and MUSIAD members, consultations were held on bilateral relations.
Under the chairmanship of MUSIAD President Mahmut Asmalı, Export Promotion Commission Chairman Ahmet Cihaner and MUSIAD members met with the Uzbekistan Delegation. The national and international activities of MUSIAD were discussed by contacting MUSIAD Uzbekistan Office. President Mahmut Asmalı talked about the Gulf Delegation trip with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the economic talks he had with Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz during the day. The steps taken for the development of Türkiye's commercial potential were discussed.
In his speech, MUSIAD President Mahmut Asmalı said, “Trade removes all borders and ends hostilities. We will try to improve the trade volume between us by working in coordination with our MUSIAD Uzbekistan Branch in Uzbekistan.” he said.
Uzbekistan Navoi Provincial Governor Normat Tursunov expressed his satisfaction with the successful contacts in Türkiye. Giving prominent information about Navoi Province and Uzbekistan in his speech, Tursunov continued as follows: “Navoi province is the second largest province of Uzbekistan and has a dynamic young population. 17 percent of the industry and 8 percent of the GNP are in this state. There are great opportunities for many sectors in the province, especially mining, chemical industry, textile, agriculture, electronics and tourism. This province stands out in Uzbekistan with its free zone activities. A safe investment environment can be offered for Turkish investors. In this context, we will organize the Navoi-Türkiye Business Forum in September 2023.”
In his speech, Governor Tursunov stated that they follow the development of MUSIAD in the world, that they want to cooperate with MUSIAD and that a joint industrial zone should be established. Emphasizing that they want to cooperate with MUSIAD on issues such as green transformation, Tursunov continued his words as follows:
“Of course, green energy is developing in Uzbekistan. There are thermal springs in Navoi Province. These resources provide advantages in the tourism and energy sectors. We are ready to cooperate with MUSIAD in this field, as in other matters. We expect cooperation on digital issues as well. There are already jointly developed projects in the agricultural sector.”
Navoi Provincial Governor Normat Tursunov declared that they are trying to meet all their needs and will provide all kinds of support by dealing with foreign investors personally.
