STRATEGIC MOVES IN FOOD, AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK WERE DISCUSSED AT MÜSİAD BURSA

Food, Agriculture and Livestock 1st Region Sector Consultation Meeting was held hosted by MÜSİAD Bursa Branch. At the meeting, which attracted great interest from our sector representatives, strategic moves that would move production and trade forward in 3 areas were discussed.

Views were exchanged on digital technologies and sustainable production methods at the MÜSİAD Bursa, Food, Agriculture and Livestock 1st Region Sector Consultation Meeting, where strategic and innovative solutions for the food, agriculture and livestock sectors, which have been of critical importance in every period of history, were discussed.

"Conscious Agriculture" emphasis from Şenocak

Stating that they are very happy to organize the first regional sectoral consultation and solidarity meeting in Bursa and stating that the Food, Agriculture and Livestock First Regional Sector Consultation Meeting is an event that will guide the sectors, MÜSİAD Bursa Branch Chairman Alparslan Şenocak said, “Our country is heaven, productive It is one of the most important agricultural producers in the world with its soil and climate conditions. The use of technology and innovative applications in the agriculture, food and livestock sectors is not yet at the desired level. We can reach a much more advanced position in the agricultural sector with domestic technologies that will be developed by taking into account the geographical-human-economic conditions specific to our country. On this path to success, our sector-focused activities are of strategic importance. In this context, I would like to specifically point out that directing our well-equipped young people to agricultural production is very beneficial and very accurate for our future. We believe that very good days await our country with conscious agricultural mobilization.” he said.

"Production per unit square meter should be increased"

Noting that the supply chain of agriculture and food was disrupted with the pandemic and became a strategic issue for countries, MÜSİAD Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sector Board Chairman Cemal Özen said, “While we are ranked 20-21st in the world in economic terms, we are ranked 10th in agricultural revenue. We have the potential to enter the top 5 in a short time under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. As the Central Sector Board, we are carrying out important work on how we can enter the top 5. In order to improve agriculture in our country, production per square meter needs to be increased. The support and incentives in our country are above the world average, but despite this, we cannot increase production. Because production per unit square meter needs to be increased. In this context, it is important that incentives turn only into production. In addition to ensuring land integration, we also need to attract our youth to agricultural production. We need to focus on planned agriculture-oriented projects that transform our cities into technology-intensive agricultural cities. "It is also important at this point that the product needed by the domestic market is not used in exports." said.

Ties between members are strengthening

MÜSİAD Bursa Branch Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Halil Atalay, said, “The main objectives of our Sector Board are to handle the food issue in the light of current data, to evaluate and improve the sector activities in a multi-faceted manner, to identify the problems and to present them to the competent authorities with solution suggestions and to follow them. “We have made it our mission to strengthen social and commercial ties among our members.” he said.

Stating that there is agricultural production in nearly 40 percent of Bursa, MÜSİAD Bursa Branch Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sector Board Chairman Tayfun Kurdal stated that sustainability-oriented studies should be carried out and technology should be used more effectively in order to develop this potential.

At the meeting, MÜSİAD Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sector Board Vice President Emrullah Gökhan made a presentation explaining the work carried out by the Headquarters and said that the decisions taken at the meeting were a guide for the solution of sectoral problems.

At the end of the meeting, Cemal Özen presented Alparslan Şenocak with the Orphan Patron Card, which represents meeting all the needs of 1 orphan for 6 months.
